NA to get Uncharted 2 bundle in October

It seems that the speculation about the 250GB PlayStation 3 slim for the North American market is pretty much at an end. Sources are now confirming to us that Sony has elected to go with Uncharted 2 as the pack-in title for the North American release of the 250GB PS3 slim.

From what our sources are telling us, the decision on which title to include was a difficult decision for Sony, but in the end the company elected to choose Uncharted 2 because they felt that it would appeal to the largest audience. The decision of selecting Uncharted 2 could also have to do with the fact that it is set for release in October, and Sony didn’t want Microsoft to be the only one out with a 250GB console when the CODMW2 LE Elite Xbox 360 drops which will include a 250GB hard drive, as we explained previously.

It is expected that Sony will make a formal announcement about the 250GB bundle for North America at the Tokyo Game Show during its keynote address next week. The safe money is to bet that the PS3 250GB Uncharted 2 bundle will arrive on October 13th, and our guess is that you should be able to pre-order it starting at the end of next week. If it does, in fact, drop onto retailer shelves on the 13th that would give Sony a head start on Microsoft in North America.

As for the price, our sources tell us that we can expect that the PS3 250GB Uncharted 2 bundle will be $399, which will match Microsoft’s pricing. It is doubtful that it will cost any more or any less than that, according to those claiming to be in the know.
