Network equipment makers see Golden Dawn
Windows 7 will bring us benefits
Network equipment makers are expected to also benefit from the launch of Windows 7 and lead to a boom in the industry.
Tony Tsao, CEO and president of D-Link told DigiTimes he expected to see revenues grow in the fourth quarter 2009. He added that demand for network equipment is likely to drift down slightly in December due to seasonal factors, but the overall performance of networking device vendors in the fourth quarter will be as strong as that in the third quarter.
The new orders seem to be coming from emerging markets, including Brazil and Russia. Demand from China is also strong due to the government's stimulus policy, Tsao said. But he is expecting many companies to undertake massive upgrades of their networking infrastructure after Windows 7 is released.
Many companies had not upgraded to Vista and were using systems that were nearly ten years old.
