Apparently developers don't want gyrating popsies

Yahoo has said sorry to Taiwanese geeks after a lap dance show organised during a brainstorming meeting.

The stage show was organised as a part of  Yahoo! Hack Day, when developers work on creating new web applications. Apparently some geeks were upset that the Hack Girls' aspect of our Taiwan Hack Day is not reflective of that spirit or purpose.

Oddly  gyrating popsies have been a feature of Yahoo Hack days in the past, but it seems that this year someone decided that half naked women rubbing against them was a bad thing.  Perhaps Google should have hired a few half naked men for those who might have had that preference.

Chris Yeh, head of the Yahoo! Developer Network, said in a statement posted on the company's Yahoo Developer Network (YDN) blog said that this incident is regrettable and we apologize to anyone that we have offended.

"It is not clear why all the thumpa-thumpa music and dancing gals did not engender complaints last year, although I am guessing the girl on nerd lap action sent it over the top," said Yeh.
