Sony to follow Microsoft’s lead next year

Our moles from the camp of Sony are letting us in on the fact that they are planning to follow Microsoft’s lead into the land of social networking integration, with Facebook support likely to be added to the PlayStation 3 at some point next year.

The moles that we spoke with seem convinced that plans for the development of Facebook support are already in the works. While some leaked images showing this support are already hitting the Web, we have a tough time in knowing if it is just a clever use of Photoshop, or they are a genuine look at in-progress development in the land of Sony.

Right now we have to say that it is likely that Sony has to be considering adding social networking support to the PlayStation 3 platform; it would just seem to be right decision, just don’t expect to see it until next year. We believe that our moles are right that an announcement of its arrival could come as soon as CES in January, but an announcement at E3 in June might be more likely.
