Tegra gets a fridge magnet

We all
heard Nvidia spin about the million possible uses for its Tegra processor, ranging from media players to cars, but we really weren't expecting to see it in a fridge magnet.

IDC has launched the Vega, a 15.6-inch Android in-home touchscreen with some rather impressive connectivity options. It's based around Nvidia's Tegra processor with 512MB of RAM and 512MB of NAND. The resistive touchscreen features a resolution of 1366x768 which should be plenty for this sort of device.

For storage the Vega relies on Micro SD memory cards, which is quite odd, as it has plenty of room for a proper SDHC slot. There's also a USB 2.0 slot, a 1.3MP webcam, accelerometer and a  magnetic dock. In terms of connectivity, Vega offers 802.11 b/g wireless, Bluetooth 2.1, 2G and 3G.

The design looks pretty nice, and at just 16mm, the Vega is as thin as a mobile phone and at under 1.3kg it's not too heavy, either. Sadly we still don't know the exact price.

You can find the product page here.
