IBM Corporation
announced yesterday that it will buy Canada's Markham, Ontario-based DataMirror Corporation for approximately C$163.5 million. This is another Markham Ontario that fell in the arms of the US business beast. The most famous one is ATI, based in the same place.

This is an indication that IBM is continuing its software expansion revenue through this acquisitions. DataMirror's technology helps companies to capture and analyze data in real-time, identifying changes to databases and immediately alerting other computer programs of those changes.

This allows those other programs to offer more current data. DataMirror’s customers include FedEx Ground, Priority Health, Tiffany & Co. and Union Pacific. In its press release IBM indicated that it expected the deal to close this year sometime in Q3.
