Polar bears have never had it so good
Russian scientists at the Moscow-based Institute of Economic Analysis (IEA)
claimed that the Hadley Center for Climate Change had probably tampered with Russian-climate
data.
The IEA thinks that the data was fiddled when it was installed into computer
models to strengthen the case for global warming caused by CO2. The IEA claims that Russian meteorological-station data did not
substantiate the anthropogenic global-warming theory.
So it was fudged Russian meteorological stations cover most of the country’s territory, and the
Hadley Center only used a quarter of the data gathered by such stations in its
reports. More than 40 per cent of Russian territory was not included in
global-temperature calculations for some other reasons, rather than the lack of
meteorological stations and observations.
The IEA said the data was not included in the Hadley CRU survey often does not
show any substantial warming in the late 20th century and the early 21st
century. However the IEA is also a bit of an agenda. Business interests in Russia
have been concerned that people will stop buying Russian gas an petrol if the
global warming theory ever gets taken seriously. (We'll just huddle and sing kumbaya until we freeze to death. sub.ed.)
