But it might go larger

Sony's European president David Reeves has gone out and stated that Europe won't be getting an 80GB PS3, as an extra 20GB “is not worth it”. This was revealed during the European PS3 starter pack launch.

David Reeves continued “If you're going to double it, it's worth it. So maybe you'll see something a little bit later, but 60 and 80, really not much difference."

So once again Europe gets screwed, we pay more for the PS3 as it is and now we don't get a "free" upgrade to 80GB. Hopefully Sony will drop the price to the same level as the US 60GB console, but this is unlikely, especially as the 60GB model will be discontinued in the US as soon as the current stock is sold out.

The possibilty of a 120GB version sounds promising, but we'd bet money on Sony rising the price for the 120GB model rather than replacing the 60GB disk with a 120GB disk for free.
