Samsung has released two new plasma TVs that are equipped with draft-n 802.11n Wi-fi so that consumers can stream video content wirelessly to their TV.
In a press release the company says that the integration of Wi-Fi can reduce the number of cables involved when setting up a home entertainment system. The TV can receive audio and video content streams from devices such as Blu-ray or HD DVD players. The downside is that wi-fi can't use the TV’s 1080p capability.
The company will be selling 50” and 58” versions of the TV. They offer a 15,000:1 contrast ratio, three HDMI ports and a USB interface. They will go on sale for $3600 and $5300.
