Microsoft can be accused of foul play after it boosted its market share in search figures by using a chicken themed puzzle game.
The company which is in third place behind Google and Yahoo had a something to crow about when it suddenly boosted its share of the market by three percentage points.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald the feathers flew when Microsoft released a game called Chicktionary on its Live Search engine.
When a player enters a word formed from three or more letters displayed by a group of hens, the game automatically triggers a related web search. Chicktionary add 35 or more queries to Microsoft's monthly total, even if the player isn't paying attention to the results.
