Now with better hotspot support

Netgear has launched an updated version of it's Wi-Fi Skype handset and the new model goes under the name of SPH200W.

Although this wasn't an unexpected addition as Netgear was showing it off back in May. Other improvements include better battery life at up to 48h in standby and about four hours talk time, that's almost twice that of the SPH101.

We're not so keen on the new design though as the navigation key looks quite naff and we'd prefered if Netgear had stuck with the Joystick of the SPH101.

The SPH200W comes with a charging cradle, but it can also be charged via a mini USB cable. It's fully compatible with Skype In and Skype Out and it can manage up to 500 Skype contacts.

No price has been announced as yet, but this is meant to be a value option, so it should be cheaper than the SPH101.
