Late Q3

Asus has
shown off a couple of CULV-based laptops at Computex, the UX50V and the UX30.

The UX50V is a 15.6-inch unit with discrete Nvidia Geforce G105M graphics and a smug backlit keyboard. It weighs 2.6kg, which isn't really that light compared to regular 15-inchers, but at 18mm to 28mm thick, it's a bit thinner. It will go on sale in Q3, priced between $799 and $1099.

The UX30 is a 13-incher, measuring just 7mm at its thinnest point, and weighing 1.6kg, it's about the same size as Acer's Timeline T3810, but a bit thicker and heavier than MSI's X340. Asus boasts battery life of over four hours, but we still don't know the price. It will hit retail in early Q4, Win 7 time, and it's a good looking piece of kit.

You can find some pics of the UX30 here.
