Simple and down to earth

Although it was shown at MSI's event back in May, MSI has now officially announced the first member of its Classic series of notebooks, the CR400. This series feature a rather simple but pretty much stylish design and this 14-incher CR400 is just that.

The new CR400 comes with a 14-inch 1366x768 LED-backlit LCD and will be available with wide variety of Core 2 Duo processors. The rest of the specifications include up to 4GB of memory, up to 500GB of hard drive space, Geforce 8200M G integrated graphics thanks to the Nvidia MCP79MLV chipset, DVD burner, gigabit LAN, draft-n WiFi, 4-in-1 card reader and a 1.3M webcam. It will be available with either 6 or 9-cell battery and weighs around 2kg with the 6-cell battery.

The one feature that caught our eye is, what MSI likes to call, EDS (Ergonomic De-Stress) keyboard. This one should help in reducing the strain on fingers while typing and we are keen on seeing this one in action. In addition to the EDS, MSI has also implemented its ECO engine with this one as well.

The new Classic series is not yet listed in Europe but we are sure that at least CR400 will pop up pretty soon.
