Acer committed to netbook market

Plenty of potential in emerging markets

Despite the fact that Samsung is apparently pulling out of the shrinking netbook market, Acer claims it won’t give up the cheap form factor just yet.

Acer VP Scott Lin claims netbooks still have a lot of potential in emerging markets, such as China, India and Indonesia. Acer is currently the largest netbook maker, with sales in excess of 1.7 million units in Q3. Asus ranked second with 1.2 million, while Samsung accounted for 840,000 units.
