Apple is dropping the “4G” designation from its new iPad, following criticism in certain markets.

The move makes sense as the new iPad really does not support 4G in most countries, as it is focused on US frequencies and really doesn’t work in most places.

The new name for the “4G” model is iPad Wi-Fi + Cellular. Still, in the product description Apple claim that the iPad connects to Wi-Fi and fast cellular data networks “up to 4G LTE” which it does, if you happen to fly it to North America.
