Intel wants its ultrabooks to start coming with voice and gesture recognition features.

According to the Oman Tribune Intel is lifting the bar on its ultra-book spec to include voice and gesture recognition. Already Intel has released touch ultrabooks and has announced agreements with four Taiwanese touch panel makers last week enable the expansion of the current capacity for touch-enabled ultrabook convertible designs by 3-5 times.

But next year it expects to do the same sort of thing with voice and gesture. Intel’s Senior Vice-President and General Manager of Sales and Marketing, Tom Kilroy said he could not give a precise timetable for the launch of ultrabooks with voice and gesture recognition features, but said “it’s around the corner”.
