Windows Tablet not ready for serious games

Alienware dismisses Ballmer's great white hope

Gaming PC maker Alienware has dismissed Microsoft's tablet as a potential games machine.

Alienware's Eddy Goyanes told Webpronews that the tablet is not going to be able to compete with gaming PCs, especially those from Alienware. While praising the Windows Tablet and saying that it has capabilities in the gaming space he did not see it as competing with any gaming PC out there.

Microsoft is more likely to be targeting its Surface for social and mobile gaming and is unlikely to go for the core gaming audience. It might be missing the boat with it. There is a market for hardcore gamers who want to play their games on the go, but so far there has not been a tablet that has the power to do anything like it.
