Asus launches quad Ethernet server board

Single CPU, 8 SATA

Asus has announced a new single CPU server board that works with either a Core 2 Duo/Quad or a Xeon 3x00-series CPU at either 800 or 1066MHz bus. There are three different SKU's of the board, with the two top-end models featuring quad Gigabit PCIe Ethernet. The four Ethernet ports can be teamed for up to 4 Gigabit throughput.

The two top-end models also features eight SATA connectors and the Intel ICH7R offers RAID 0, 1, 10 and 5 in Windows, with 0, 1 and 10 in Linux. The Marvell controller only offers 0, 1 and 10 under both operating systems.
 
The base model and the mid-range board features the Intel MCH 3000 with the top of the range model featuring the MCH 3010 which adds a second x16 PCI Express slot, although it only has x8 lanes. The other two models features a single x16 slot (x8 lanes) and a single x8 slot (x1 lanes) and three PCI slots.

All three models has onboard graphics courtesy of an XGI Z7 PCI controller with 32MB of memory.
