Asus claims another "World's first"

Intel's G35
Express chipset has been around for a while, but even back then when it was released Intel claimed DX10 support for its GMA X3500. However, only a few days ago Intel actually released the DirectX 10 driver for this chipset. Asus was quick to upload this new driver and make a "World's first" with DX10 claim.

The driver in question is the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver V7.14.10.1451 for Windows Vista, both 32-bit and 64-bit. Asus was fast to claim the "World's first," but in reality any motherboard based on the G35 chipset is now finally DirectX 10 capable. Asus has four boards based on this chipset, the P5E-V HDMI, P5E-VM HDMI and the P5E-VM SE.

This doesn't bring any real benefit, since you can't expect any kind of gaming performance from an integrated graphics solution, but it should be enough for Windows Vista's "cute" Aero interface. Anyway, if you are running a G35-based motherboard, it's time to go and get yourself some DirectX 10 drivers, finally.

You can check out Asus's press release here.
