In addition to the P7P55D Deluxe motherboard and the Maximus III Formula, Asus will have a Maximus III Gene, a microATX version based on the P55 chipset. The guys from Lab501.ro managed to score couple of pictures and some details on this microATX P55 beauty.

The Maximus III Gene has a 10-phase design, four DDR3 slots, two PCI-Express x16, one PCI-Express x1 and one plain PCI slot. The tightly packed backplate features Gigabit LAN, one eSATA, eight USB and one Firewire port and integrated audio outputs. Unfortunately, it doesn't feature add-in SupremeFX X-Fi audio, but it still has that same chip, altough integrated on the motherboard in the right corner.

The new Maximus III Gene will probably be equipped with the same features that were detailed for its bigger brother, the Maximus III Formula. We can see that it will have a ROG Connect, so it is possible to hook it up to a PC via USB cable in order to adjust hardware settings in real time.

Unfortunately, neither the price nor the release date were announced, so we'll have to wait until it shows its face in retail. You can check out the bigger pictures here.
