For those that still want to play GameCube games

There seems to be a new way for those that are interested in playing GameCube "backups" on their Wii console and it goes under the name of WiiGator. At the moment there aren't a lot of details except for what has been revealed in a short video posted on YouTube.

What it does show is the install procedure of the software which appears to be patching the optical drive in the Wii console, but it's not quite clear what is going on. The software also gives the user the option to load games from memory cards or DVD-R's. You can also select the TV type you're using, although it's not sure if it allows for playback of games from a different region than your console was purchased in.
