At this point we can confirm nothing, but we now know that Bungie will not be doing any additional Halo titles at least for the foreseeable future.  The rumor mill has been buzzing overtime that, in fact, Microsoft has done a deal with Gearbox who will be developing Halo 4.

While CEO Randy Pitchford is quoted as saying that “It’s no secret that we have some other things in development,” he does not actually say that they are the studio that has been selected by Microsoft to work on Halo 4; but the discussion was ended right there, according to reports.

Currently, Gearbox is working on Borderlands, but clearly from all of the buzz, it is pretty much a given that we think Gearbox has the deal for Halo 4 (or is close to having the deal for Halo 4 done). We will have to wait till some additional confirmations leak out, but we think it could be a safe bet.
