Blizzard Entertainment has released sales information for StarCraft II: Wings Of Liberty and you probably would not be surprised to discover that it is breaking most records.

Blizzard told us that it sold one million copies on PC and Mac in its first day of sale, and over 1.5 million within 48 hours. This makes it the biggest PC launch of the year and the fastest-selling strategy game of all time.

The game was launched in 11 different languages and on five different continents because Blizzard wanted to make sure as many players as possible were able to log on and play on day one.

The game community is positively buzzing about the thing. Apparently releasing it in the middle of summer when players should be out on a beach somewhere didn't hurt one bit.
