It seems that the sequel is closer than we thought
As we recently told you, the possibility of Mirror’s Edge finally getting its sequel appears to be on much more solid footing with the news that we will see the combination of Mirror’s Edge 2 running on the Frostbite 2 engine.

While EA has been hinting that DICE was apparently working on re-inventing the title so that the sequel would be more compelling and attract more attention (and in turn deliver more sales), so far Electronic Arts has had little to say other than they do expect the title to get a sequel in the future.

The first Mirror’s Edge, despite the innovation of the free-running title, did not seem to find a place with many games purchased, and sales were not what DICE or EA had hopped. The title did gain an exceptional large amount of hard core fans; however this didn’t yield the kinds of sales numbers that are necessary to sustain a franchise, but it was a good start.

Sources tell us that despite DICE’s lack of confirmation, a small team is already engaged in working on the project and with it powered by Frostbite 2, it could be quite a game indeed.
