Zelda supposed to excite Wii owners
Nintendo is hoping that Wii owners will be excited about the announcement that Zelda: Skyward Sword will make it to North America in time for the holidays. For Wii owners Zelda: Skyward Sword has been a highly anticipated title and the news that it will arrive before the traditional Black Friday sales in North America could have the potential to lead to big sales for Nintendo.

Zelda: Skyward Sword is slated to be released in North America on November 20th, which is just five short days before the traditional Black Friday sales. Zelda: Skyward Sword represents the first new Zelda game for the Wii since the 2006 Zelda Twilight Princess, which was also made available for the Game Cube.

The announcement of this release date does make the 25th anniversary of the Zelda series, as it started way back in 1986. Zelda: Skyward Sword is said to heavily involve swordplay and it is said to offer a much more accurate and precise system due to the support of the Wii MotionPlus controllers.

Still, analysts we spoke with are skeptical that the sales numbers for Zelda: Skyward Sword are going to really be something special for Nintendo. Many believe that so many Wii users are letting their Wii units collect dust that perhaps the sales numbers will not be a slam dunk for Nintendo. Then again, if the game is good it could cause players to blow the dust off their consoles and buy a copy. No one seems to really know for sure what the reaction of the buying public will be to Zelda: Skyward Sword. The release date, however, is certainly in the title’s favor.
