Nintendo Switch makes an appearance

Runs The Legend of Zelda: Breath of Wild

Both Nintendo's upcoming Switch console and Shigeru Miyamoto have made a surprise appearance at The Tonight Show with Jimmy Falon.

The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon has been known to include video games in its show and its latest one was quite surprising, with Nintendo of America President, Reggie Fils-Aime, showing off the upcoming Nintendo Switch console running The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild game.

Fils-Aime showed some already known details including the fact that the Switch can be used as a console when plugged in the dock or used as a handheld console. This is also the first time we saw someone outside Nintendo handling the console in its portable mode. The transition between home console and handheld took just a few seconds, which is not bad at all.

Jimmy also gave a detailed look at the backside of the Switch, showing four triggers, before he went on to play a bit of the Zelda demo. This is also the first time that Breath of the Wild was ran on something other than Wii U console.

Another big surprise is the fact that Shigeru Miyamoto also joined the show by playing the Super Mario Bros. theme together with The Roots, so you might want to check that one as well.

Nintendo is expected to host a big Switch event on January 12th so we will probably get a few more details then.
