Says AMD

All vendors knew that DirectX 10.1 will come after DirectX 10. It’s an advantage to ATI customers that will pay off in the long run. Nvidia doesn’t offer DirectX 10.1 option, and this is unlikely to change anytime soon.

All the Geforce people will not experience these features, as they don’t support DirectX 10.1, and some upcoming games will support this API. There are at least a few titles that will be optimized and coded for DirectX 10.1 but with a direct pattern to support DirectX 10, as well.

Nvidia robs their customers of DirectX 10.1 content and experience, and this is the thought that we’ve heard a few times out of the other camp.

At the end of the day, consumers will buy bigger numbers and there is a hope that they will buy DirectX 10.1, as it's a higher number by DirectX 10. This is AMD’s big hope.
