EK Water Blocks and Danger Den

As the ATI HD 4870 X2 cards have been launched various companies have decided to launch their water blocks meant for cooling this dual-GPU behemoth. We have seen the Koolance water block in action on Diamond's overclocked edition, and now is time to take a look at EK and Danger Den's solutions.

EK Water Blocks has prepared no less than three different water blocks, EK-FC4870 X2 - Acetal CF, EK-FC4870 X2 - CF Nickel and EK-FC4870 X2 CF. All three will measure 206 x 118,5 x 7,5mm and will use a copper base. The only difference between these three is the use of different material for the top, polyoxymethylene for the Acetal CF version, while the other two will use acrylic glass for the top.

Danger Den has also decided to announce its water block for the HD 4870 X2 card, the Danger Den R700. Same as the others that are previously announced, this one should also be able to cool down the pair of RV770 GPUs in order to give either lower temperatures or higher overclocking scores, all depending on your choice.

The Danger Den R700 should be available soon with a price tag set around USD $150, while the EK Water Block’s trio should be available this week with a price tag set at 114.95 euro, 119.50 euro and 109.96 euro, respectively.
