We’ve
learned that Nvidia has tens of thousands GTX 260 cards and this is the main reason why it doesn’t want to re-launch the GTX 260 to 265 and increase the clock.

A few independent sources have said that Nvidia strictly said that they are not allowed to announce that the cards they are shipping have the 55nm GT200b core and if they do such a thing, there might be some consequences. This card with a new driver is looking like a better choice than Radeon HD 4870 but Nvidia still has quite a few 65nm ones to sell.

The reasons are quite obvious, as Nvidia would kill the GTX 260 65nm sales if the market knew that there is a new better chip that costs the same or almost the same. We are still confident that the 55nm GTX 260 will overclock much better and naturally, it needs much less than 182W, the current power requirement for Geforce GTX 260 65nm.
