Disabling SLI no longer required, improved stability

For those with CUDA enabled GeForce 8 or higher GPUs that are unfamiliar with Elemental Technologies Badaboom Media Converter, we highly suggest reading up on the company's product information page without delay.

In short terms, long gone are the days of converting video clips from PC to entertainment device on the CPU - the GPU video transcoding revolution has begun. In the latest release of Badaboom, most of the commonly reported customer issues have been worked and many stability fixes have also been added to ensure lightning-fast transcoding speeds on CUDA-enabled Nvidia GPUs.

For instance, the 64-bit video file problem that caused certain transcoded videos to fail on a number of devices has been addressed. Error messages that were seen included “Video not supported,” “Unsupported video,” and “Corrupt data.” Devices affected by the problem were the PSP, the PlayStation 3, and the Zune.

Additionally, disabling SLI is no longer a requirement to run the program, but is now set as a "recommended" option. Now if only we could see actual SLI support implemented and test out some screaming GTX 295s in Quad-SLI. Hopefully this concern will be addressed sooner than expected. However, audio sync issues have been improved for all file types, and both the video and audio bitrate sliders have been fine-tuned and are more accurate.

Several new features and fixes have also been made to the user interface. For instance, if a selected device does not officially support Main profile, a warning will be provided if the user selects this profile. In addition, FRAPS support has been added to allow gamers to transcode recorded game play for purposes of uploading to YouTube, all with astonishingly fast real-time speed thanks to Nvidia's CUDA platform.
