XFX intros two HD 6950 1GB cards

by on27 January 2011

Bit of an overclock
XFX has introduced two Radeon HD 6950 cards with 1GB of memory, just in time compete with Nvidia’s new GTX 560 Ti.

What sets XFX cards apart from other 1GB Caymans is the XXX version, with a slight factory overclock. It is clocked at 830MHz core and 1300MHZ memory, while the reference board runs at 800/1250MHz. XFX stuck to reference cooling on both cards.

There are a few listings on the EU market, but the prices seem a bit steep, starting at €237 for the reference clocked card and €244 for the OC version. We will probably see lower prices as the cards become readily available.
