Intel discrete graphics to arrive in 2020

SVP Raja Koduri confirms

Intel’s chief architect, senior vice president of the newly formed Core and Visual Computing Group, ex. Radeon Technology guru Raja Koduri has confirmed on Twitter that its discrete graphics will come in 2020.

Intel didn’t share a lot, just that it is serious about discrete graphics and that its project can be expected in 2020. The rest can only be speculation.

Intel can use discrete graphics for deep learning, and artificial intelligence too, as GPUs tend to do multiple parallel things together and since, according to our sources, the Vega 20, also known as the big Vega, won't come until at least 2020. So Intel might have a shot.

Nvidia is the one to watch, as this could be the primary goal for Intel’s discrete graphics but it won't be an easy task. We believe it can be done, but we are still quite some time away from seeing a shipped product.

That is the year 2020.
