One to have for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and The Outer Worlds

Nvidia has released its latest Geforce 440.97 WHQL Game Ready graphics driver which brings all the necessery optimizations for upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and The Outer Worlds, as well as includes a couple of bug fixes.

According to the release notes, the Geforce 440.97 WHQL is the Game Ready driver which should provide the best possible gaming experience for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and The Outer Worlds games, both launching on Friday, October 25th. This is a big deal considering that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will have ray traced shadows and should look impressive on Nvidia's RTX series graphics cards.

In addition to these game optimizations, the new Geforce 440.97 WHQL driver also adds support for windowed G-SYNC for OpenGL and Vulkan-based applications, couple of SLI profiles, including Darwin Project, The Outer Worlds (NVIDIA Turing GPUs only), as well as fixes flashes or frame drops in several Notebook models when running G-SYNC in the lower of the two system refresh rates.

The Geforce 440.97 WHQL driver also includes fixes that were added with Geforce 436.51 Hotfix driver, which includes fixes for FIFA 19/FIFA 20 games, random flickering issues in Apex Legends, random crashes in Star Wars: Battlefront II, bugs with Shadow of the Tomb Raider with DirectX 12, color corruption bugs with Forza Horizon 4 and more.

As always, the new Geforce 440.97 WHQL driver is available over at Nvidia's driver support page where you can also find the full release notes.
