In a situation where the R600 is still to come, Jetway had to innovate. Just like Sapphire, the company made a special version of X1950PRO card.

It didn't add two chips, it replaced the DDR3 memory with DDR4 memory at 2200 MHz. The bandwidth hungry X1950 PRO will benefit from it. As we confirmed in our test here, the pro chip will profit from extra memory bandwidth.

 

 

It remains to be seen will the other partners follow this trend. It all depends what the gods in the AMD Parthenon are planning. Here is how the card looks like, it is not the sexiest thing we ever saw but it will do the job.
