Makes R600 suffer

XFX has a bunch of 8800 GTS cards, that can compete against the R600 at its default clocks. The fastest one ships with the core at 600 MHz, the Shaders at 1,500 MHz  and the memory at 1,900 MHz. XFX brands it as the XXX Edition.

The reference card works at 500 MHz core, 1,188 MHz Shaders and 1,600 MHz memory and the XFX cards are clearly faster than any reference model.

The new card clocked at 600MHz was announced today and it should be in the stores shortly, but we still don’t know its suggested retail price. The fastest 640 MB 8800 GTS card from XFX we could find is still the 550 MHz / 1,800 MHz XXX card with a saucy SRP of about €370 in German etailer stores.

The faster 600 MHz card is expected any day now and we don’t doubt for a second that we will see this card at Computex.
