The low end 55 nanometre chip that is set to replace the RV615 chip will be branded as the Radeon HD 2500. It looks like AMD might just like the performance that it is getting out of these chips so it really dares to upgrade the name by a 100 points.
This chip is a 55 nanometre low end part that supports PCIe 2.0, DirectX 10.1 and Display Port, so AMD expects that this one will be quite popular with OEMs.
It is still scheduled for Q1 2008.
