As the 8800 GT launch date draws near, more and more info about Nvidia's new mainstream powerhouse is beginning to surface.
Tomshardware.tw got hold of an 8800 GT with 512MB of GDDR3 memory and snapped a few close up photos of the GPU and memory chips.
The card uses
16 M x 32 Qimonda HYB18H512321 BF-10 GDDR3 memory chips running at 1000MHz on a 256 bit bus. Its PCB is 9 inches long, and the card is a single slot design. It uses a Cooler Master TM69 to chill the 37.5 mm x 37.5mm 65nm GPU clocked at 600MHz. The shaders run at 1500MHz.
According to the site most vendors plan to launch the 512MB version, followed later by a cheaper 256MB card.
