This Monday Gainward chose to tell the world that it got in bed with ATI. It officially announced reference clocked HD 4870 and HD 4850 cards and it should start selling them shortly.

They chose rather convenient words, as they said in their press release that “Gainward Rocks & Shocks the mainstream gaming world with the new ATI HD4870/HD4850 graphics cards” and we are sure that this news will at least shock Nvidia.

Up until now, Gainward was one of the few brands that were sticking exclusively with Nvidia, but as the market is tough and the mother ship company that starts with a P.... is already doing it, it was the logical way to go.
