Now official

We hit the jackpot with the HD 3000 to HD 4000 renaming story. A few hours ago, AMD has officially confirmed that there won't be any HD 3000 to HD 4000 renaming and this statement includes the Chinese and Russian market.

The story now gets a new twist, as we know that AMD did start to develop a bios that would let System integrators and some OEMs  re-brand their cards.

After the reaction, caused in part by our post, AMD has decided to drop this, simply as it criticized Nvidia on many occasions for renaming many of its Geforce 8 to Geforce 9 cards.

So now we can easily say that this won’t happen and a more affordable HD 4000 will come with RV710 and 730 at some point in September / October time.
