Sandforce SF-2281 and 25nm MLC NAND
In case OCZ's high-performance Vertex 3 SSDs aren't quite to your budget's liking, you should know that OCZ now officially launched its mainstream Agility 3 and entry-level Solid 3 solid state drives. Both these SSDs feature the same Sandforce SF-2281 controller and use 25nm MLC NAND flash chips.

The Agility 3 SSDs will be available in 60, 120 and 240GB capacities and are rated for speeds of up to 525MB/s for read and 500MB/s (475MB/s for the 60GB version) for write. Its random 4k write performance is at up to 50,000 IOPS. As noted, Agility 3 features the Sandforce SF-2281 controller paired up with 25nm MLC NAND chips and features SATA 6Gbps interface and native TRIM support.

The "cheaper" Solid 3 series SSD will be available in 60 and 120GB capacities and is also based on the SF-2281 controller and 25nm MLC chips. These too have native TRIM support and SATA 6Gbps interface and are rated for sppeds of up to 500MB/s for read and 450MB//s for write while the random 4k write performance is at 20,000 IOPS.

The Agility 3 and Solid 3 series are backed by three years of warranty. They are currently listed in Europe with the price set at €119,90 for the lowest capacity drive - 60GB Agility 3, while the 120 and 240GB ones are listed at €214,90 and €419. Solid 3 series SSDs are a bit cheaper and are currently listed at €109,90 for the 60GB one and €199,90 for the 120GB version.
