Kingston shows off high capacity DataTraveler flash drive

by on04 January 2017

Coming in 2TB and 1TB versions

Although it is not as small as some flash drives around, the new Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate Generation Terabyte (GT) comes in impressive 2TB and 1TB capacities.

Measurint 72x26.9x21mm, the size of the zinc-alloy metal chassis is not half bad considering it is smaller than portable hard drives and can pack up to 70 hours of 4K/UHD video.

The zinc-alloy chassis is also quite durable allowing it to work at temperatures between -25°C to 60°C as well as storing data at temperatures between -40°C to 85°C. Now that's both very cold and very hot. Unfortunately, Kingston did not reveal any details regarding the actual performance although we suspect the new DataTraveler Ultimate (GT) is all about capacity and not about performance.

The  Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate (GT) uses a USB 3.0 interface and will be available in 2TB and 1TB versions. It is backed by a five year warranty and should be shipping sometime in February. Unfortunately, Kingston still hasn't revealed any details about the price.
