Preliminary Q2 analysis

Motorola has already warned its investors that it expects to make a loss in Q2 2007 and what Motorola doesn’t want to tell anyone is that it suffered more from the iPhone hype than it wants to admit.

Apple stole a lot of the high end customers from Motorola and Moto is up for a tough year due to the iPhone. While people were waiting for the iPhone, Motorola Razr phone sales significantly went down and the iPhone did better than anyone really expected.

This hurts AMD – ATI as ATI's Imagion chips are inside the Razr phone. Both AMD and Motorola are suppose to tell the world its Q2 results and both of them are expected to report a loss higher than people expects.
