Sony Ericsson announced two new mobile phones intended for developing countries. The models in question are R300 Radio and R306 Radio.

Both phones feature a characteristic design that enables a very good radio signal reception and listening to FM radio. Both have quite powerful speakers with 3D sound and special control buttons, where you can store your favorite stations and recall them by a simple push of a button.

R306 is a flip-phone design, its dimensions are 90 x 47.9 x 15.8 mm, and it weighs 93 grams.

You have 5MB of internal memory and although it’s not impressive, at least it will be enough to store your MP3 ringtones. The display is identical to R300’s, 128 x 160 pixels with 65,535 colors. However, this model has a much better digital camera with 1.3 megapixels.

Both phones are Triband and will come in 2 flavors, 900/1800/1900 i 850/1800/1900 GSM/GPRS, depending on the market they're selling in.

R300 radio should be on the market by Q2, while R306 is planned for Q3 2008.

The prices are not set yet, but we'll keep you posted.
