Pre-launch 11/20 and full launch 11/24

We have received word from several sources that Verizon has settled on a launch date for the much anticipated BlackBerry Storm. In a break with tradition, Verizon will launch the Storm in an SMB preview pre-launch event on November 20th in 123 stores.

They will be targeting existing and prospective small business customers with 1 to 49 lines with a direct mail that invites customers to register for the event on a special RSVP Website. Those that show up for the event should be able to walk away with the Storm that very morning. This is for a very select number of customers only, and there will no sales to the general public.

As for general availability of the Storm, all stores should have inventory by November 24th. You should be able to also get the Storm through the corporate sales, telesales, and indirect dealers. We have been told that the corporate store inventory is full of Storms.

The Storm itself will be available from Verizon for $199.99 with a two-year contract and mail-in-rebate. So, the price has not changed much from what was anticipated. The early buzz on the Storm is good and it could be just the ticket for Verizon to take on AT&T and the iPhone.
