Second WebOS phone from Palm
So you have been looking at the Palm Pre; and with all of the discussion of about what the Pre could represent for the possible turn in the future of cell phone technology, word comes to us from our sources that Palm has a second WebOS- powered phone on the horizon called the Eos, which will be headed to AT&T in the U.S.
The Eos will be a Quad-Band GSM model with HSDPA. It will have a large 2.6-inch screen with 320x400 native resolution with a capacitive display. The Eos will sport 4GB of RAM with the ability to add more with a MicroSD card.
The camera will be of the 2 megapixel variety with flash and video capture ability. Connectivity will be available with Bluetooth 2.1 support and USB 2.0 with a micro USB connector. The Eos is expected to yield about 4 hours of talk time with the removable 1150mAh battery.
The Eos will support cellular video with MPEG4, H.264, and H.263 video playback. Audio support will include MP3, AAC, AAC+ as well WAV support. Messaging will include POP3, IMAP4, and EAS support as well as instant messaging support. The phone will, of course, support SMS as well as picture and video MMS.
The Eos is expected to retail for $349 when released in the late summer or early fall timeframe.
