Google Pixel 3 XL smiles for the camera

by on09 August 2018

Comes with a big notch

Although the rumored launch date is set for October, it appears that Google already finished the Pixel 3 XL smartphone as it showed up in an unboxing video, in a retail box and all the accessories.

The video, leaked by a Ukranian blogger shows a lot of about the Pixel 3 XL, including all the previously confirmed specifications, like the 2960x1440 resolution display, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 with 4GB of RAM and a single camera on the back. It also runs on Android 9 Pie out of the box.

The unboxing video shows that Google will include a decent pair of headphones in the box as well, which is a nice touch.

While the specifications might seem solid, although a single camera might not be enough to challenge some of the latest flagships, the design of the Pixel 3 XL is quite a surprise, showing a fat notch. We aren't big fans of the notch and while there is an option to make the status bar black and get rid of it, this does not help the overall look of the phone.

The backside of the phone is quite plain too, and we are not sure if we are looking at a plastic back or some other high-quality material.

In the end, it all comes down to the price and while Pixel 3 XL might not get any design praises, with the right price it could end up to be the choice of many buyers.
