Razer's Phone 2 spotted on Geekbench

by on07 September 2018

With Snapdragon 845 and 8GB of RAM

As we already know that Razer is working on a 2nd generation Razer Phone, it was just a matter of time before it showed up in some benchmark database and the one on Geekbench, shows it running on Snapdragon 845 SoC with 8GB of RAM.

While some rumors suggested Razer could opt for Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 SoC, according to the listing on Geekbench (via GSMArena.com), it appears that the 2nd generation will be sticking to "tried-and-true" Snapdragon 845 SoC, pairing it up with 8GB of RAM.

The single- and multi-core scores are pretty low but bear in mind that this it is obviously under development. Of course, it could be an early prototype and the final one could be coming with Snapdragon 855 after all, but it is highly unlikely.

Unfortunately, there isn't much more information, other than it runs on Android 8.1 OS, but we suspect that Razer will also update both the screen, pushing the level a notch higher, and possibly update the camera setup.

In any case, it will be interesting to see Razer's update and design path it has decided to take for its 2nd generation gaming smartphone.
