Nvidia's 790i Ultra SLI in Quantum Force style

Foxconn has officially launched the third motherboard in its latest Quantum Force series lineup. After the BlackOPS and the Destroyer, it's time for the Dreadnought. The Dreadnought was first shown during the CeBIT 2008 show, and back then it has raised a lot of eyebrows.

The Dreadnought is based on Nvidia's 790i Ultra SLI chipset and comes with the same cooling solution that was previously seen on the BlackOPS motherboard. We are talking about the 4-in-1 solution that offers four different cooling methods, depending on the user's choice and level of the OC potential which the user wants. The Dreadnought can be either passively or actively air cooled, and it has options for LN2 or dry ice cooling for those that want a maximum OC potential.

Other specs include support for 45nm Intel's Core 2 CPUs and DDR3-2000 memory support. It has three PCI-Express x16 slots with support for Nvidia's tri-SLI, six SATA and two eSATA ports, ten USB 2.0 and two Firewire ports, and a 7.1 channel HD audio with Low ESR capacitors.

Other features that the overclockers will appreciate include 100% solid capacitors, Foxconn's Aegis panel, the 8-phase digital PWM, Quantum BIOS and twin BIOS that enables easy re-flashing.

This new Quantum Force series motherboard should be available on store shelves sometime during the next month with a hefty US$399 price tag.
