VIA has refreshed its EPIA series with a new motherboard that targets the industrial and embedded application market, the EPIA N700-10EW.

This nano-ITX motherboard is made to operate under harsh environments and can work at temperatures ranging from -20 to 70 degrees Celsius, in addition to the fact that it does not need any fans.

The specifications include VIA Eden ULV processor clocked at 1GHz and paired up with VIA's VX800 chipset with Chrome9 integrated graphics. The motherboard also has a single DDR2 533/677 So-DIMM slot with support for up to 2GB of memory and even features two SATA connectors. The backplate comes with two USB ports, COM port, D-Sub output and PCI-E based Gigabit LAN.

Thanks to VIA Chrome9 HC3 DX9 integrated graphics and VX800 chipset it comes with MPEG-2/4, WMV9 and VC1 video decoding acceleration. In addition to the onboard VGA output, the new EPIA board also has a 24-bit dual channel LVDS connector.

It also features Mini-PCI slot, Compact Flash Type I, IDE port, one more COM, two more USB ports and PS/2 port via pin-headers. It even has an onboard audio thanks to VIA VT1708B HD chip. It can also be paired with either USB WLAN or Mini PCI WLAN modules.

The same type of motherboard is also available with either 1.5GHz VIA C7 (EPIA-N700-15L) or 500MHz VIA Eden ULV (EPIA-N700-05LE) processors.
