Six PCI-Express x16 slots and native SATA 6.0Gbps

The guys from Coolaler.com managed to score couple of pictures of the MSI's 890FX-GD70 motherboard. This one is based on AMD's upcoming 890FX chipset scheduled for April 2010 as it will enter mass production in February 2010.

This new chipset brings native SATA 6.0Gbps support but as we wrote before it still sticks to USB 2.0 so it's no surprise that MSI went for third party USB 3.0 chip, or to be precise, quite famous NEC chip.

Another surprise was the fact that this one will feature no less than six PCI-Express x16 slots. This left room for a single plain PCI slot and we doubt that anyone would use more than three of those PCI-Express slots anyway, as six is just plain silly.

The motherboard has all the features that were already seen on the 790FX-GD70 motherboard and we are quite pleased that MSI is sticking to the new black/blue colour scheme. MSI will, of course, have more models based on the same chipset as if this one is similar to the 790FX-GD70, we can expect a GD65 based on the same 890FX chipset but with less features.

Here are some pictures and you can check some more over at Coolaler.com.
